I would also try a System Restore. Hopefully, you have it enabled? You can also set Task Scheduler to create restore points more often than the default weekly schedule. Just make sure to pick a time when your system is powered on.
Follow up with a
Malwarebytes Free scan. If you don't already have it installed, make sure to un-check the Premium version option. Otherwise, you'll be limited to one month use. The free version has no time limit restrictions.
If you're using WIN 7, then you may want to consider using something like the free
Comodo Program Manager(CPM) in the future. It will auto monitor installs, and can uninstall programs and remove system changes such as to the registry. So if you inadvertently install a program, or a program is installed without your knowledge, you have a way to uninstall it. It's not compatible with WIN 8.
