Of course, you realize you still are on the same 4G network; that didn't change. What may have changed is that your new hotspot may be AWS-compatible. The AWS frequency spectrum is being "rolled out" by Verizon in cities across the country and is accessible by newer smart phones and, most likely, by newer "hotspots." Because only a percentage of Verizon's devices can access AWS the speeds tend to be higher than most of us have previously experienced. However, as the number of AWS-compatible devices increases this speed is likely to decrease.
