- Bill_SatelliteExplorer IINo speculation on a forum? Isn't that heresy! :B
- MrWizardModeratorI never said VZW should make you wait for news
I never said any of what has happen was right
I said in many words , a little patience and prudence
Is a lot better than all this wild speculation - LearjetExplorer

I'm doing my best to keep the discussion sane
People have almost two weeks to jump ship to one of the new double data plans
Taking a couple of days to wait for news and review options is sensible
Instead of making unnecessary changes...Because of the fear factor
if VZW isn't forth coming within a week, users will still have 5 days to change service and get one of the double data phone plans
a few days of wait and see..while investigating possible changes
is a better plan than "panic" and unfounded speculation
I don't know why we should have to wait so long for Verizon to have a plan, really? You would think they would have a plan to try and keep customers, they are about to lose one in a week. - MrWizardModeratorI'm doing my best to keep the discussion sane

Of course. - MrWizardModeratori'm not suggesting customers do nothing...yes customers should consider ALL options available

a month to month service can be construed as a contract
legally binding in a court of law ? IDK
but in practice it is often honored as that
why would vzw mess with an existing customer base, when roll over will eventually change most of it anyway
we don't know what vzw policy will be
try offering up possible solutions..other services ? instead of trying to play "pin the moderator" - Us_out_WestExplorer

It was just a matter of time. Never did make sense that a company A would allow company B to sell A's product for less than they would sell if for.
Agreed.
Here is my guess. Years ago VZ had excess network capacity. Rather then doing nothing with it, they sold it wholesale to Millenicom.
Recently retail users are consuming more and more data. Video streaming, music, sending pictures, etcetera. The former excess capacity is gone. VZ made a good business decision to sell data at retail and not wholesale.
I'm guessing they simply told Millenicom that they would no longer wholesale data to them. End of Millenicom.
Best 2 comments in this whole thread! - Bill_SatelliteExplorer IIMrWizard, you still didn't address what contracts you believe Verizon would be inclined to continue. If they simply snuffed out the Millenicom business as you suggest might have happened, wouldn't they also have a bunch of customers with no contracts?
- D_E_BishopExplorerThanks bcsdguy for the reminder about old age.
