- Bill_SatelliteExplorer III did not say that there was a loss of customers to Verizon. Millenicom lost all of their customers to Verizon.

The only thing we truly know is that Millenicom has announced that they lost all of their customers to Verizon. We don't know why but it appears to have been a hostile take-over not condoned by Millenicom. The one note I read stated that Millenicom has "requested" that Verizon provide a smooth transition. This may or may not happen. A similar event occurred a number of years back and the new service provider did not have the necessary information about the previous providers customer base, contact or billing information. Months went by with service being provided but the customer received no billing. After a bit, if the customer wanted to continue service they were billed in one lump sum for the past months of "free" service. It was not pretty and it's the reason I suggest that you take your destiny into you own hands.
I don't think there is a take over or loss of customers to VZW, just a loss by Millenicom of the ability to purchase bulk bandwidth wholesale from VZW. This is either by loss or failure to procure a contract or being priced out of business. - slabmanExplorerTo anyone thinking we're panicking, let me say ...well....maybe, maybe not. BUT....when faced with uncertainty about our precious internet service, it is only natural to wonder what may be in our best interests going forward. To do otherwise would be putting one's head in the sand. Not me! I wanna know what my options are BEFORE the 11th hour so I don't have to make a regrettable decision. I might want to spend that day Trick-or-Treating instead of camping out down at the phone store. :B
I now own 2 ATT phones after recently giving up on VZ due to their never-ending data run-ups on my account. And I now own a Pantech Jetpack from Millenicom which I'd love to continue to use. Not too interested in buying ANOTHER MiFi device on ANY carrier right now, but....if I must, well, I want to know that soon as possible to have all my options available.
To those who have already done a little homework on this-keep the info coming. The more data we have, the better informed decisions we can make. Thanks for all those posting. - Bill_SatelliteExplorer IIThe only thing we truly know is that Millenicom has announced that they lost all of their customers to Verizon. - Dutch_12078Explorer IIObviously, my crystal ball isn't any better than anyone else, but I'm not rushing into a new deal until I see what Verizon offers us. Since I want data only anyway, their double data deals are not available to me. One thought I'm keeping in mind is that historically VZW has maintained the plan status quo, at least for awhile, when they've acquired another company. There are still folks using the same plan they had with Alltel for instance.
- Us_out_WestExplorerYou must have not looked at the link provided a couple of posts previously.
Verizon evidently has not loaded all the customer information that were Millen. accounts yet...probably a time consuming process. - TXicemanExplorer IIStill waiting for word from Verizon and nothing so far. Monday, I am headed on to AT&T and Verizon to see what I can do.
I don't think Verizon will treat the "new potential customer" very well overall.
Ken - MrWizardModeratorthanks for the link

- mikeleblanc413ExplorerI'm with Learjet! Don't ever think Verizon doesn't have their "plan" in place! I suspected something a few months ago when Millenicom went to $89. Verizon is in it for Verizon! I recommend that we all get OUR plans in place! Those who believe otherwise are in a pipe dream!
