Mobile Hotspot, T-Mobile, anyone use?

We use tracfone's for our cell usage (which is very limited). But, tracfone does not offer a cell phone hot spot we can use with our laptop on the road.

T-Mobile seems to offer the best combination of coverage versus cost (Verizon better coverage, but much more expensive) that I can find. But I have no assurance that I have looked under every rock.

We plan to use it mostly when moving to keep an eye on weather, etc, so T-mobiles highway coverage seems to be ok for us.

Do you know of any better combo than T-Mobiles $85 for hotspot phone and $35 for 60 days of service?
  • We use Verizon hotspot all over the country - $50 a month and we never use the max allowance ...

Although we don't download videos or watch live sports - which adds a lot - we have no issues with Verizon - and we use local WIFI when available.
  • Check out FreedomPop - they have a mobile hotspot device that is 3G/4G compatible that works on the Sprint network. I have one, paid $40 for the unit and have their 2Gb data plan for $20 month. So far it has been working well for me.
