Mobley problems

My Mobley has been acting strangely for about a month. I have to redo the connection to it on average about once per hour of use. But it varies a lot. I don't think that I have had the update, because sometimes it works fine and I can go back 10 hours later and it still works fine.

I called zte last night, and they said because it's out of warranty they can repair it or send me a different one, but there is a charge of 50 bucks. For that price should I get a hotspot and put the sim in it instead? Has anybody else had the same problem with their Mobley and is there a solution that doesn't involve spending money? :-)

Also, do I understand correctly that I will get in trouble with AT&T if I put the sim in my smart phone? I have a T-Mobile phone, and it accepts AT&T sims.

Thanks very much for any info!

Thanks, Bill :). I read through the old threads herw about routers before posting. I see that people are getting a better signal strength. I don't have any interest in connecting multiple devices, because it's just me and I don't have a TV. But more signal strength is always good. Are there any other advantages to using a router?

More details on the current problem:

About 70% of the time, turning off the Wi-Fi on my device and turning it back on works. The rest of the time, shutting off the power to the Mobley and turning it back on works.

Except last night. What causes me to call tech support last night was that multiple attempts at these things didn't work.

I also found the reset button on the side of the Mobley pressed it a few times; that didn't work either. But, during the tech support call the guy had me press the button again and this time it worked. Not sure if he did something on his end. There was a pretty high language barrier. (Or the Mobley may have had what my mom calls 'cat at the vet syndrome', where the cat acts like they're dying and then when you get to the vet they act like they're fine :-))

Anyway, I think my Mobley may be getting worse. Anybody have ideas about what might be going on with it?

You cannot put the SIM in your smart phone but you can put it in an AT&T Netgear router. Even if you were not having problems you will find that you are miles ahead with the SIM in a router instead of the Mobley. My Mobley has been sitting in a drawer nearly from the beginning.
