as far as i know SIMs cannot be duplicated
and i have never heard of one failing
in the past when changing phones that required a different 'size' SIM
i just a new one for a few $$ then call CS and give them the SIM info
i'm sure you could keep a new spare on hand, but you have to place it in the mobley when you called ATT CS for activating it
