Monetizing videos on YouTube: Experience/Comments

Lots of people responding with, fairly obvious, no knowledge of actually being a "youtube publisher".

I have a bunch of vids I have loaded, since mine are almost all recreational I didn't bother with monetizing.

I have a friend that used to make and sell DVDs of him demonstrating various technical things. When sales fell off he looked into monetizing his videos on Youtube. Due to all the hoops he had to jump through he decided to just upload them and use the publicity to help him get teaching gigs
