I haven't had television in about twenty-some-years but I do enjoy some bogey/bacall classics DVD which a laptop should be able to handle? I haven't a clue about connections on the 11 incher. The friend who is sending it said the performance specs " are barely better than the specs for your old laptop".
The 2011 laptop had a 1.0 GHz dual core AMD Processor, & 2.0 GB RAM. Even when cleaned out and registry and de-fragged it was s-l-o-w on the internet with the HD constantly banging away.
Quad core question for the 17" way off in the future:
My budget limits me to around 350 dollars inc tax & shipping. Social Security forces me to save 50-dollars a month. Most are refurbished. Most of their low-end quad-cores have 1.5 or so processors. How do I compare a 1.5 GHz quad core to a 1.0 GHz dual-core? The 4-core is only 50% "faster" than my old laptop, right with 4 GB RAM vs 2? I wish I knew more about this stuff - I realize I know just enough to make me dangerous. Sites that deal with comparisons are so technical and deal with turbo and 3.8 GHz 5-core processors. I might as well be reading Sanscrit.
