Movies from external hard drive storage to TV?

We have several old movies on an external hard drive storage. We'd like to be able to watch them while we are out and about. We don't want to stream them. We have a TV and a DVD player, but the D...

My search of Amazon and eBay show them at about the same price. Look at WD TV Live Plus ($30 to $90) vs Amazon Fire TV. ($90)

The WD TV Live Plus is a low cost version of the WD TV Media Player. I think (?) the major differences is the Media Player is Wireless
