- road-runnerExplorer IIIWhen you're on a page full of ads, select "open blockable items" on adblock plus. Is there anything in the list, showing what it has blocked? I wonder if your browser might be "infected" with some adware virus? I don't have a huge knowledge of these yet. They're pretty diabolical, locally inserting ads into web pages, so they'd be going right around an ad blocker. They're not technically a virus, and it doesn't look like virus checkers are doing a very good job detecting them.
- rockhillmanorExplorer IIStill can't get ghostery to install. Albeit it says install complete.
Adblocker is installed, shows enabled, but doesn't block anything.
Sounds like something is disabled somewhere to prevent these 2 from running but I sure can't find it. Only thing I did was upgrade Java.
Boy without my ghostery I am shocked and just can NOT believe how many ads are running all over web pages!! I don't know how anyone could use the internet with all those ads. It's like 80% ads, 20% content. - 4X4DodgerExplorer II

I use Do NOT TRACK ME. It has always worked and no updates have ever affected it.
Yes. Shows who is tracking and you have option on blocking or not. Free add on for firefox. The other firefox add on I like is add block plus.
Do not track me is also free and for Firefox which I use exclusively, except the few times I switch to Chrome. Is nyone running both? to compare them? - WyoTravelerExplorer

I was 'forced' into updating java to use my mobile banking. Happened right around after that AND that is also when adblocker appeared in my toolbar which doesn't even work.
Did my update of java add adblocker and override the ghostery?
If so is there a place to find a default box to go back to ghostery and over ride the non functioning adblocker? - Dutch_12078Explorer IIILike Al, my V42 update didn't affect Ghostery other than changing some settings.
- aslaksonExplorerJust updated Firefox to ver 42 - Ghostery still running, but all the options had been reset. Had to turn on blocking for every category. (On this site, it's blocking 3 trackers.)
Ver 42 has some inbuilt tracking blocking that supposedly does some of the same stuff as Ghostery, but you have to specifically enable it in the Privacy settings. I didn't, but if you did, that might be the problem.
