My Tailgater Continues to Amaze Me!!

I see there are active threads regarding shortcomings with the Tailgater. I'm posting this to say I've had NONE of those problems, and today I watched the technology FAR exceed my expectations.

Today, surrounded by trees, I tried connecting my 50-ft coax to my 100-ft coax (150-ft total + line loss from the connector). I was only trying this to see if I could get a signal there--and I get fully functional TV!!

I was ready to spend $200 on a low-loss 150-ft cable--NOT!!! As long as I keep the coax a few inches from my 30A power cable, I have no issues whatsoever. SCHWEEEETT!!!!! TV on!!
  • Hmmm, don't bother bringing your Tailgater to our upstate NY cottage, it won't work. The Dish western arc birds are totally blocked by thick pine trees, but the eastern arc is clear. And it won't get the locals in HD where we are now in Maryland. The eastern arc works fine for HD locals though. Having access to either arc has meant that we've gotten service in a number of locations where being limited to the western arc only meant no or limited service. Our larger dish is also less affected by rain fade.
  • I love ours, too. I set it up (yeah, ME!) for my grandchildren....they stayed in the RV. :) :) VERY easy, and so dependable!!!!!!!
