- jacob2017ExplorerHello Good day, I use a software called Duplicate Files Deleter, it's very easy to use and after it finds the duplicate files it lets you chose what you want to do with them (copy/delete/move). You can even check network files and you can check multiple paths in the same scan. This helps me a lot. I hope you too.

Thank you
I'll give this a day or so, see if there are any other suggestions
It looks like clone master will do what I need
Wiz, did you try this out?
If so how did it work for you? Are you running Win 10?
I am going to give it a try myself. Spent a gob of time trying to pull a ton of files from multiple drives and stick them all in one place so I can sort them out and dump the dupes.
I did notice that the full version is 40 bucks. Don't mind paying it if it will do the job on Win10. Trial or free version won't do multiple file deletes.
yes.. went with clone master MrWizard wrote:

Thanks for the tips. I will check it out and see if it runs on 10.
I like to keep backups on a couple of computers and on a thumb drive as an additional safe backup.
I use a very simple program for that called Synch Toy. Been using it for years.
Me too. Versatile program and free. It is by Microsoft. Search for sync2toy . - eichacsjExplorer"Easy Duplicate Finder" works best for me. They also have a picture duplicate finder. They have a free download so you can see what it does.

I believe you, thanks for the info.

I'm in the same boat but don't you hate clicking the Delete button, you know, just in case it's wrong.
CloneMaster compares files bit-for-bit to determine that they're truly identical. If there are multiple iterations of the same file, you can choose to delete "all but the first," etc. It's never made a mistake in the 10 or 15 years I've been using it.
