Need belt case for cell phone

I got DH a Samsung Rugby III phone last week and now am looking for a case that he can run his belt thru(not just clip on to his belt). Would prefer a leather one but may have to go with something else. Anyone have a suggestion where I might find one?

This is what I use for my Galaxy S2, and even though it has the clip and the loops, the clip alone works fine! Bought mine at a flea market in Florida for $6 bucks!
  • I find that any jacket with a buttoned or zippered pocket (jeans jacket, etc) works fine as does a front pants pocket. IMHO the idea of carrying one in a belt case is the 21st-century equivalent of a pocket-protector. Us old guys are dorky enough without having to enhance the image!
  • I remember those from when cell phones were big, the case on the belt was kind of a status symbol at work, like retractable keychains with at least 30 keys on the ring.

Then the cell phones got smaller, slipped into a pocket, little tiny belt case just looked dorky.

Then we got smart phones, the guys went to a case on the belt, the gals just drop the phone in the back pocket where the guys would have their fat wallet. When I go for lunch in town today, see the office workers with their phones, the case on the belt is still looking dorky. The bulge it the back pocket, kind of neat. Sometimes even sxxy.

OK, if you still want it, DH needs to be dorky, look at the phone accessory kiosk in the mall, the phone store that sells that phone, the phone accessory department at Walmart, your big box office supply or electronics stores, or just search Amazon.com.

My experience, there is not a lot of difference in quality. Quality in phone cases is not usually great (most leather cases fabricated in Asian or Latin America sweat shops) but they will outlast the phone, which will be obsolete (yet still perfectly usable) before the contract paying for it runs out.
  • If you have one close, check Big Lots. Bought a really decent Case Logic for only ten dollars. Lots cheaper and seems better than the expensive one I originally had from Verizon store.

This company makes some very nice cases.. I use one for my S-III in fact, (Even though it was designed for something else) the belt clip is a clip, but it locks on firmly, lasts for years, (I got 2 of them in 2006, One died of old age but that was a cell phone case and the part that died was the elastic adjustable sides... The clip was still good when I tossed it)

    Very rugged.

    Western case Company
  • Webster Fl. flea market. That is exactly what I was looking for when I found mine. Leather and $5 each.
