X2, the Straigt Talk UMX hotspot is fine for intermittent usage. There are no activation fees, just buy a card and add data when needed in 1,2,4,5, or 7GB chunks. The 4 & 5GB cards are the most economical at $10/GB. We are heavy Internet users, and have two Millenicom 20GB/mo plans. But we also have the Straight Talk hotspot on hand to use as a fill-in when we're a bit short on data to get through the month.
