Need New TV

Our Furrion TV has died. The Wal-Mart near our next stop has a Vizio in stock and the correct size. I have never replaced a tv in an RV. Any reason that a standard tv will not work? TIA

RV TV's are regular TV's.. So no there is not
When I upgraded I bought one at a pawn shop.. The reason I choose that specific TV.. IT FIT. It was the correct size.
  • if you want to use the same bracket...you need to make sure it is capable and the location of the screws will match. I changed one TV and it ended up being higher than the one it replaced...still worked...but I would verfiy.
  • 6 months ago bought two televisions . One is a Visio with built in smart cast and the other a TCL Roku tv. both are excellent televisions. Both have built in streaming app availability via your WiFi. It’s almost impossible to not get a smart tv today.
Televisions have become commodities and the average person wouldn’t know the difference. There is nothing that needs to be “ special “ about a Rv television, unless you want a 12 volt tv so you can run off batteries without an inverter. ( I wouldn’t) . Rv manufacturers generally put the cheapest thing they can buy in bulk , in this case a furrion. Anything you put in will be good.
  • No reason what so ever. You might even look at a "smart" tv for other apps. :)
  • My 32" TV is a Vizio, about 10 yrs old
Been cross country and back, watched everyday,
Not a Wi-Fi smart tv with apps,
But it has 3 HDMI ports
  • Replaced both TVs in RV with Vizio and both TVs in S&B with Vizio

    2008 for RV
    2017 for S&B

ALL working great...2008 models don't have same features the 2017 models do but for the RV are good enough

    So what's wrong with Vizio???

I replaced the original television in our trailer with a 32" Visio 5 years ago and it still works well. It is not a "smart" television but is fine for us right now.
  • No reason at all, but I'd look at Sony or Samsung before buying a Vizio. New TVs have wifi and apps and you DO want that. They're not all the same, and you get what you pay for.

It's best if you listen to them first. Some TVs have really horrible sound.
  • I never had an issue replacing a TV. Consider plugging an extra HDMI in before mounting if not on a swivel mount.
