If you have another machine with a DVD drive you could copy the contents of the DVD to a USB thumb drive and use that to install it on a computer with no DVD drive. I bought a netbook about 4 years ago with no DVD drive and bought an external drive because I thought I needed it. While I did use it a few times, for the most part, it sits unused.
