You could contact Boost and ask them for unlock instructions, if unlocking is even possible. Supposedly fully paid for off-contract devices are required by law to be unlocked by the carrier when requested by the owner, but no idea how that applies to second-sale devices, etc.
I have a Virgin hotspot, a Verizon hotspot, an ATT hotspot and StraightTalk hotspot. All four the carriers claim cannot be "unlocked". That's why I use a cheapy phone as my hotspot from now on.
New in box, just gray market but yes caviet emptor for sure, just trying to figure out now if it's a door stop or a tweak away from working.
