I am looking for a new email client to replace WLM. I am using Windows 7. I hope U can get some recommendations. I don't want to use web maul and I don't want to use Outlook. I am not a power user. I loved WLM. I am presently trying OE Classic. Anyone who used Outlook Express will feel at home. But it does have some problems. You cannot set it to be the default email client. So if you are on a web site and click on "contact" it opens up WLM. OE Classic told me that they will one day make that change. You also have to change your outlook settings to POP. This causes havoc. If I open Outlook on my Android phone it is empty. Cannot change font size of your inbox list. Other quirks as well. I am considering runasxp. It too is built on the old OE but much has been updated. Some have suggested Thunderbird. But I really don't want to fool around customizing. I want something that works out of the box. All suggestions appreciated.Moisheh

WLM = Windows Live Mail. I think you will be happiest with Outlook. The reason it is empty on your Android device is probably because you didn't configure you devices to keep your email on the server until you delete it. The default is to delete it from the mail server as soon as it is downloaded and read on the first device.Dave

I've been using The Bat since Windows 98. Not free, but does what I want it to do.

Why question the use of Thunderbird??? I have used Outlook in the past but really do not like it.

2oldman: I do have a gmail account but hardly use it. Horrible client. Windows Live Mail was a great email client. It will work with some email but not with Hotmail ( now Outlook.com). I may have to try a few of the mentioned programs and pick the best. That can be a real pain!

I use the web clients for GMail, Yahoo and AOL. Easy to use, intuitive. WIN based email clients, IMO are clunky and a pain to configure.

I also liked Live Mail for my Hotmail and other email accounts. Tried Outlook and hated it. I switched to Thunderbird three days ago and so far I like it. BTW, it works out of the box. You'll need to train the spam filter as you receive emails but it's no big deal.
