Chris, I too have a heavily spammed long used address that's connected to several websites I maintain. I have that address forwarded to a separate Gmail account for their spam filtering, and then forwarded from there to another non-Gmail account. That gives me the benefit of Gmail's spam filtering along with the convenience of handling all my email in one client.
