- Tom_M1ExplorerOnly $399!!!
I think I will stick with the crank. - wildtoadExplorer III installed the Rayzar to replace the jack and it works great. I then installed the Sensar Pro replacement power supply and thus far have been pleased.
- n7bsnExplorerActually been talked about a couple times already.
As I noted in one of the discussions, it's still right on the roof line and subject to shading by the roof A/C, etc.
There are two truisms on antennas. Height it Might and Size rules all. Higher and bigger is better then lower and smaller. - SCVJeffExplorerCute. There were receivers around several years ago that drove an antenna and repointed it depending on the channel you went to. This is the same but you will be standing up all night if you're a channel surfer. A 2db difference in noise figure isn't going to hardly make a difference except make a pretty graph.
I'll take a mast all day long - BumpyroadExplorer

IIRC walmart was selling a dish 211k with automatic dish for $462 or so.

The OTA antenna doesn't require a monthly programming fee though... :W - BumpyroadExplorer

very true, but it only gets OTA free programming, not the good stuff.
I was just comparing the price for a rabbit ears vs sat. programming.
bumpy - skyquest4494ExplorerHi
For anyone interested this new Rayzar antenna was just reviewed and tested against an old Batwing antenna.

I guess the take home message is "save your money"?
bumpy - Ron3rdExplorer IIIIt might be good for a narrow class of installations, but the downside I see is the low height. Height is might in OTA reception. Don't see any reason to get rid of the batwing and Sensar Pro combo I use.
