New Stereo

Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced RV or car stereo to replace my old one? I'm looking for something with am/fm, cd, Bluetooth would be nice or at least the option to connect to phone or iPad. DVD function would be a plus. The stereo i have now is 7-1/2" x 10-1/2" tall and there is not much more room than that on either side of it.
  • Jenson/Concertone/Touch Audio - they all suck. Poor sound, poor interfaces, and poor quality. The $250 Pioneer I linked above (or $79 Sony AM FM CD MP3) and a $5 piece of wood for a face will work if you are concerned about aesthetics and get you better quality. But you are still playing through poor speakers. Again, do you really need AM/FM/CD? DVD I could see maybe, but I picked up a $45 portable DVD player that my kids use in the car or hooked up to the TV in our TT, along with the portable speaker.
  • I replaced my no-name chinese stereo with a Pioneer double din. Also replaced the super cheap paper speakers with a set of $50/pair speakers from Best Buy. Huge improvement in sound! New stereo also plays DVD's which is handy as my TV is mounted directly below the stereo. Total cost for stereo, speakers, mounting hardware etc. was about $300.
  • I honestly am not all that concerned with sound quality, I'm just not that fussy. What I really want is something that works. The one that I have in there now doesn't work to play CD's any more and the digital radio display seems to be missing some LEDs and you cant read the station very well.

I know I want something that will pull in a local radio station so I can listen to an afternoon baseball game or check the weather if I'm somewhere with no data coverage, play a CD since my wife still seems to listen to them and hook up to my phone or an ipod either wirelessly or with a cable so I can access the songs on my phone or Pandora. The DVD feature would be nice but not absolutely necessary. I just thought it would save from having another component since my TV and stereo are in close proximity to one another. I assume there would be a way to hook up the stereo to the tv and play DVD's on there?

I'm not all that concerned with sound quality either but the factory speakers sounded all tinny and garbled. Just a cheap pair from best buy was all I needed.

The Pioneer I bought has inputs for USB flash drives or audio in from the head phone jack on cell phones or ipods. Many also support blue tooth.

My stereo has composite video outputs for connecting to the TV when playing DVD's.
