Newbie to RVing and this forum with a satellite question

Howdie all,

My name is Nick. Im in the process of going thru a divorce and will be moving into my recently acquired Crossroads Seville 35' fifth. I am buying the trailer from my parents that now have a Beaver pusher.

My question is this. They had an automatic satellite dish on the roof. It was for Direct tv, and it was not HD. I am not a fan of Direct, I love Dish. How hard to swap the guts maybe, of the antenna to get a Dish HD compatible system...

Thanks
Nick
  • Thanks Bill.
I figured it wouldn't be cheap, they told me it was 2k for the system in the first place. I was just wondering between the new portable set ups or the roof mount, which way I should go. I like the idea of the roof mount, nothing on the ground to worry about. But if I couldn't get the gear to still use the roof mount, i'd hafta go portable.
  • Nothing that $1200 to $1500 won't cure. Sorry for that answer, but it's always more difficult, time consuming and expensive than you think it will be. One of the main problems is figuring out all of the wiring that you can't see in the walls, ceiling, and underneath.

    Bill
