The extreme low power at which a MiFi operates is not going to interfere with the campground WiFi system. Period. If you take your MiFi into the coach next door and the stars are all aligned correctly, you might be able to cause an issue with that campers connection but it still would not effect that parks connection in any way.
I use a WiFi Ranger in my RV which puts out a pretty strong signal but I can still use my own router or the parks router to connect my computer to the internet without issue. It's truly just a campground either trying to make excuses for their crappy system or the person who wrote it had no idea what they were talking about.
If any of it were true, none of us would ever be able to get on the internet! How many times have you pulled up your WiFi connection page only to find 20+ connections available? With an external antenna I have pulled up as many as 50 available networks without any of them causing any issues.
This is so untrue. I agree the MiFi will cause little interference, but your WiFi Ranger will cause interference on other WiFi devices. Its called Co-Channel interference. The greater the output power of a device, the greater the zone of interference will be.
I set up wireless networks for large temporary special events and experience this all the time at certain events that have a large number of private wireless networks (auto races). I could setup next to your rig with one of our more powerful AP's and render yours useless.
I suggest some research before you blast the forum with untrue comments.
It's really not untrue at all if we remain within the parameters of the discussion which is a MiFi interfering with campground WiFi. Your contention that you "could" setup a powerful AP beside my coach is absolutely true. It just doesn't have anything to do with an RVer using a MiFi in a campground. You are absolutely correct that given the right set of circumstances Wifi Networks can be interfered with so I apologize if I imply that cannot be. I am also not blasting anyone with anything other than the fact that the campgrounds claims are completely unwarranted.
