Just one more reason to buck up and buy a mobile broad band when RV'ing and stop trying to be so cheap and then complaining about the what's offered for free.
That's the problem here. The park is saying they will not allow you to use the mobile broad band that you purchased. A MiFi does not use the parks WiFi network in any way. It's a cellular data card "which I am paying for" and the park says you can't use it because it also transmits a WiFi signal allowing me, in my own coach, to have multiple devices connected to my own private cellular network.
I have my Sprint USB mobile plugged into my computer and it does NOT allow me to have wifi for any other devices.
You have to have a 'router' connected for it to do that.
If you have a router connected take it off! You don't need a router to use a mobile broadband monthly paid for internet connection on one computer.
And IMHO if you need a router to power every single family members computer in an RV, somethings wrong with what you believe family camping is all about! :W
That said the CG owner is wrong.
Rock, a Mifi is a aircard/router all wrapped into one small package. The output is in ma's and the range is miniscule. Even our phone, which can serve as a hotspot, serves as a router, so I ask, WHAT is the difference between using your cell phone and using a Mifi? What would they say if I raised my Motosat antenna and went online? Sorry, but that is total BS about interference, just a bandwidth issue.
