Wow. Lots of discussion while I was offline. It sounds like there may be a problem which is what I wanted to know. I worked in computer support but never had much to do with the networking side. I enjoy having fast Internet access and I have never been impressed with most campground wifi if I could get it at all so I provided my own with the Verizon Jetpack.
I don't want to interfere with other wifi users if at all possible though so is there anything I can do to minimize the problem? I will need to research the channels. Hopefully I can change the channel in my Jetpack although I don't see anything obvious.
I also recently bought a WifiRanger X so I can pick up a weak campground signal which is what I am using now. Since that also is a router I assume that needs to be put on another channel too.
I didn't use either my Jetpack or the WifiRanger while at the CGs that did not allow them although in the first one that meant I had no reliable Internet because the signal was too weak out in the back forty where I was.
The reason I use one of my two routers is that my original iPad could not pick up a signal from very far away. The new one I have seems to be better but I have not tested it too much yet. Also my Kindle needs wifi to download books. I hate to be connecting each device up to a different wifi and in some cases typing in passwords all the time.
So, what should I do so I am not a problem to other wifi users?
