There are many reasons to use our own internet connection. The first is that you have you own in-house network which allows you to share printers or other NAS devices such as backup storage. The second most common reason to use your own device is that while the campgroud offers wifi, it frequently stinks! Many people also feel that using your own secure cellular device makes banking and other secure transactions safer. There is some slight hint of truth to this but once you have created a secure link to your banking site the security levels are the same.
I am currently in a park in Golden, CO with 2 strong wifi networks available. This park only has about 30 sites but using their wifi, I cannot stay connected for more than 20-30 minutes before it's either overloaded (I am guessing that's why it's too slow) or simply drops out and this is a City run park.
