But they do charge for their product. It is a marketing technique to get their product out there. I've used AVG Free for years and never gotten a virus. I installed their paid version for a client for their company's use with the same result.
Do you also pay for Microsoft Office rather than use Google Docs or Open Office? Both of these products are free and are excellent alternatives for word processing and spreadsheets. Google is not a non-profit company.
