OTA antenna, Sling TV, DVR+

Thought I would share.....
I read lots of post here about the batwing antenna on RVs. Yes, we changed our worthless antenna to a batwing and are happy with the results. We decided to take it a step further and dump our satellite here at home. We have 50' tower antenna where we get all the major networks in high def, added netfix, added slingtv.com, and a channel master Dvr+. Of course this isn't for everyone but it sure works for us. Our tv went from $113 a month to $28 plus tax. We share netflix with 3 others so it averages out to $3 a month. Our sling tv, streaming like netflix, is $20 plus we added in sports package for additional $5. Sling TV has a few hiccups but we like it. We bought a Roku 3, media player for half price due to signing up for 3 months of sling tv. My Channel Master DVR+ records all my programs we want off our antenna. We are officially cord cutters now and smiling. I can do without a million channels on satellite but the internet stays. As I said not for all but it may be of interest to some.

Well, it sounds great for a sticks & bricks setup where Internet broadband is cheap & readily accessible.

However, for an RV install it would be problematic. Besides carrying around a 50' antenna, broadband on the road would be very expensive for all the streaming toys you have.

Very true, that is why I just shared it in the technology forum. However, our batwing on our camper works great!:B

Where did you get your electrical engineering degree?:)

Hahaha, I love the internet so I do a lot of reading. My degrees are in something other than engineering but hey could be an idea. Lol...:S My DH thinks I am a nut anyway but he isn't complaining about the money we are saving to spend on camping.:B
