Over the air television - in and out fuzzies???

We have 4 different televisions in our house, and we have 2 different televisions in our travel trailer. We receive our television signals from over-the-air (antenna). We do not have cable or satellite television, only over-the-air.

We have noticed in the last few weeks there is a momentary shift in the picture. It's not a pixel freeze, it's a fuzzy image that momentarily appears, almost like a camera going out of focus and then coming back into focus. There's no rhyme or reason for it happening. It's happening on different channels, different televisions, and at different places (at least across Indiana right now), as we've been out with the camper a few times already this year.

I understand pixel freeze, but this is different. The image does not freeze, it literally goes out of focus and becomes somewhat blurred. It happens quick and then disappears and the image is ok again.

Has anyone else noticed this? If so, any ideas what's causing it. Like I said, different televisions, different television stations, different regions of the county? Very strange.

There are many issues. Some stations try to cram in one too many sub stations

As someone said Solar Flares,, Actually several solar issues Spaceweather.com for more on that or google Ham Nation and watch Dr. T's segments.

And someimes you are "on the edge" in teh RV replacing ye old wall switch with a Sensar Pro (Winegard antennas) may help.. if you have a BOMB as I do. the Senser pro goes between teh Matrix Switch (BOMB) and the antenna.. Works, and I mean WORKS!!! many added features.
  • Leeblev, that makes good sense. At home, we do get multiple stations. We have two 8-1's, 8-2's, 8-3's, 8-4's. They come from 2 different locations. One television in the camper, when flipping through the channels will land on 8-1, then 8-1 again, where as the other television only lands on 8-1 once. If two broadcasts are sending at the same time, I can see how that would confuse the television enough to create a fuzzed screen. Thanks for the input!
  • What I found, (purely by accident) is occasionally on sub-channels (ie:4-3) I pick up two different stations sharing the same frequency. I recently re-loaded the channels and now have two 4-3, 20-2, etc. I was initially puzzled because I would occasionally get a fuzzy image for a few seconds before I reloaded. I don't know if you have a signal strength meter in your setup. In my MH, I have an old TV that requires a "box" to get OTA signals. It has a signal strength meter and I can adjust the antenna to the strongest signal and avoid "ghosts" from more distant stations. My home system has a broader antenna pattern so I do get duplicates from different stations. Can't complain because at home I get 68 channels with some of the same channels from different stations.
