Over the air tv reception

My Tv in the motorhome never worked well. I replaced the old antenna with a Jack Digital HDTV Antenna Replacement Head. That didn't correct the picture. So I replaced the wire from the antenna to the switch box. I then replaced the wire from the switch box to the TV. The TV also has been replaced. I won a Winegard Rayzar Indoor antenna and by passed everything and I have a great picture. Don't have any Idea were to go from here. My Dish Net works great but If I work off the roof it fades in and out. Everything is new. Am thinking of trying the house antenna with a long cable to the wire on top of the roof. Suggestions please
  • Just something you have to live with. Now that we have digital OTA.
You always loose the signal when the best part of a program is on.

What I found. I checked the 12 volt right from it's converter and it was only 7.6 volts. So I taped it into the 12 for the switch box. I then received signals but they fade in and out. I'm thinking of replacing the total antenna but don't know what one I want to go with. Suggestions. I only live 40 miles from downtown Chicago so I should be getting good signal. I do on the house antenna.
yeah but your not camping at the house (are you?).

I will always recommend the Batwing/ Wingman Sensor combo if it fits on the roof simply because it's the best RV specific antenna out there. If you don't care, than a Jack is fine.

HERE are the differences between them.

  • If the red light on the bottom of the antenna is light I should have 12 volts. Right?

Are you sure the power supply to the antenna is on? Neither the batwing or Jack will work without it.
    X2

Check for 12V on the roof at the coax.
  • The new digital OTA will always fade in and out.
All depends on how close to signal you are.
Weather is also a big factor.
Really do not believe it is your equipment or conn.
