Linking to a photo in Google Photos on any website (like RV.net) is simple:
And painful. First, I can't even get to my pics unless I sign in, with Picasaweb I don't need to be signed in to see any of my public albums or their contents nor does anyone else who simply clicks on the link I provide to those albums at the bottom of my rv.net posts or to individual pics I may want to link to within a given post. Unlike GP I can arrange those albums in any order I prefer simply by adjusting the album dates. With GP one also can't see text related to the pic unless one is familiar enough with GP to know to click on Info, which many random viewers would not waste the time trying to figure out. This is no different than shoving cars loaded with electronic controls down our throats, only to discover that some geek with a computer can take complete control from the driver. :S Cloud advantages notwithstanding, there was nothing wrong with the functionality of Picasaweb as it was, as evidenced by the great number of users lamenting it's demise. I'd just like an alternative to Picasaweb that functions in a similar fashion without all this dancing around and stupid limitations like not being able to instantly sort my albums according to my own preference.
Painful. :M
