Photo Hosting Website

So I admit it ... the older I get the simpler I like things. :D I've been using Picasaweb for several years now for hosting pics and the odd video - it's simple to use and it's served me well. Recently I discovered Google is abandoning this service and has moved all my pics to Google Photos. I've checked it out, find it way too complicated, don't like it at all. :M I don't need to edit my pics online as I can do that before uploading them, all I want to do is organize my pics in a few albums and be able to copy the link to any given pic so I can post it in an rv.net forum discussion. And I don't need no stinkin' app for my phone as I do everything on my Macbook Pro. :R So the question is - what photo hosting site, preferably free, would serve my simple needs as did Picasaweb? :h

  • I also use Photobucket, but it is getting to be a bit more of a hassle than it has been in the past. Not enough to change sites, but enough to be irksome.
  • Another PhotoBucket user here. Create a user ID and all you have to do is drag and drop you photos to the main directory which opens automatically. Once the photo is uploaded, you can click the image and it opens up. On the right side will list a set of URL's for the photo. Copy the URL and past it in the RV.net forum. You can create folders and upload to folders, or move the photo around. It does have some editing features, but I edit before uploading, so have used that feature very, very little. You can also protect your access so only you can view anything, or leave it open so others can view, if they know your URL.

Here's a link to my main bucket if you want to explore a little. I don't have anything "private" on Photobucket at all. I started using Photobucket exclusively so I could post photos on RV.net. So, every photo on there has been posted on these forums at one time or another over the years.

You can also create slide shows. Here's a link to a slide show from one of folders. Here's a "link" to a 6 photo "slide show" of my previous Satalite TV Dish Tailgater's and antenna" Click here.

So PhotoBucket is pretty easy to use, and has some nice features too.

Once you've tried it, you may like it. No harm in setting up a FREE account and putting up a photo and see how it works. If it doesn't work for you, you can simply abandon it! No damage done!

I use IMGUR here... Has all of the exporting addresses for the various forums etc...

    And its free...

I also use GOOGLE IMAGES as well to some extent. As you are aware everything you post usally goes to the internet...

I have a couple of unique words in my signature block so using these two unique letters together gives me just about all of my previous posted photos...

These already have been posted so they have the correct address line...

It is almost click click to send them again.

  • I find photobucket very easy to use, although some seem to have problems with it. But works for me.
