I think when you compare what you get for the price you have to pay and then compare that to a real laptop, you'll go with a true laptop. I don't pay more than $500 and yet get some very nice features. I could get one for much less and it would still be much more useful than a ChromeBook. I'm not a fan of Google at all. I was years ago but today they're all about targeted marketing and they never forget. I use DuckDuckGo as my browser (the browser that doesn't track you) for security and privacy reasons.
