Automatic updates can be stopped if you are on a "metered" connection.

I'm on internet forums.. and from what I'm reading... Windows 10 sucks up data because you can't pick, choose or turn off the updates. When you are on the road with limited data available (hotspot) the overages can be a big pain in the neck.
There's too much information being sent out of the Window's 10 ... and you can't control what is coming in. (Is what I've gathered from all the forum info posted.)
