as an IT pro who has traveled for the company dog & pony shows -
the Inkjets do alright on the road - but you should really remove them from the print head before you depart.
Laser printers do very well on the road with the following caveat. Remove your toner cartridge from the printer. The vibration will cause the dry toner to shake out and then get into the printer and that's the end of the printer.
Toner never goes bad, and it has a half life of at least 20 years.
InkJet print heads are notorious for getting clogged - but we weren't sure if it was they were in storage for months at a time or if they didn't like the the shaking when it was shipped.
