I would try re-installing the firmware just for grins if you have not done so. If it won't take the current, install and older and re-install the new.
It's certainly possible that it's a hardware failure but it's always worth the effort to save having to replace it.

I recently got rid of a WiFi Ranger that I had struggled with for years and bought the MBR95 so I could take advantage of the WiFi as WAN option when an RV park happened to have reasonable wifi service. It's been great and works just as it should with very little effort as I move from campground to campground.
