I am thinking of purchasing a Radar Detector. What Brands are the best?

I have an Escort MAX in my daily driver, which along with Escort Live on my iPhone, provides me darn good, but not perfect protection. It also shows cop spotted reports from WAZE users on the maps.
Unfortunately, during my daily commute here in MASS, driving the speed limit is more dangerous than speeding, as you'll probably be run over from behind! More important than on the highway is the need for a detector on the back-roads portion of my commute, where local yokels set unreasonably low speed limits than wait to generate revenue. I cannot count how many times my detector combo has saved me.
As others have said, if you are hit by laser speed gun while speeding, you are instantly caught, but there are also "jammers" that can work with your detector to give you added protection.
Until you spend every workday in rush hour traffic, please don't suggest how I should drive or whether a detector makes sense for everyone. And no....... I have never even considered needing or wanting it in my coach.
