It did help the Winegard batwing wingman w/ amp pull in a couple channels (and their subchannels). We are across town from the towers and the RV antenna was flat down on roof under a close aluminum roof so not ideal test yet.
I pulled out a coat hanger 4 bowtie antenna and the amp let it pick up two extra stations, and the same for a 4 fractal antenna I made up. The fractal did better than the bowtie, picking up nearly all the stations in town. I should bring these homemade ones on our next outing and do a three way smackdown.
MNTundra, what gain setting should I use on the RS amp when hooked to the RV setup?
I start with full gain (10 dB when cranked clockwise). Unit is adjustable from minimum of 2 dB (cranked counter-clockwise) to 10dB.
The Winegard amplifier should aways be turned on when using TV. Unplugging power cord of RS unit allows bypass of Winegard amplified signal to TV with coaxial cables still connected.
The RS amplifier can be lowered in gain for close-in stations. "Practice makes perfect". Doing "add" searches of new searches in slightly different directions can help if more stations are possible in a given direction.
Run a new search after dark. Distant stations are easier to locate and keep a signal at night.
Thanks for the reply. Some of the "doubting Thomas's" are out replying today. :B
