Ok folks, I hinted at this up-thread but now I will spell it out.
Contrary to what many post that plate on your wall, or the box with all the buttons is **NOT** the winegard amplifier.
IT is the POWER SUPPLY for the amplifier (See note below).
The amplifier is in the mast head (The antenna up on the roof) where it belongs, this is where the signal it needs to amplify is strongest so it's the best place for it.
You put ANY device not specifically designed to go in this place between the control box/wall plate and the roof, you DISABLE the built in amplifier and turn it into an attenuator (the oposite of an amp) The Sensar PRO is specifically designed to go here. The Radio Shack amp is not
So, with the RS amp you need one for EAch DOWNLINE device (IE: wall plate, 2 tv's you need two amps Button box, you may need 3 or 4) AND.. You need a way of bypassing it when you are playing a CD or Sat or Park cable or any source other than the antenna.
This is why I'm so big on the Sensar Pro.. NOt because I think it is better.. But Because it is the simpliest install.. I'm looking at one as I type this.
