I love your antenna Burl. :B A guys "gotta" do what works when desperate. :C
I suspect your coaxial cables have some bad connections somewhere.
Loosen and retighten the connecter of the coaxial connected to the antenna on the roof. Check to make sure the connector on the cable is not pulling loose.
check all connections for same inside where you can get at them. Unscrew the wall-plate with amplifier power button. Carefully pull it out slightly from the wall to check the coaxial cables attached to it.
People with Class A's have a much harder time getting at and checking all cable connections. You can only remove screws to pull out the BOMB (switch-box) for cable checks a few times before screws strip the thread in cheap cabinetry. Same for the TV, "IF" you can figure out how to get to the connections.
Burl. Your Winegard system will work better if you can fix the cables. It is still the best RV antenna going to date.
