I am not sure what you are referring to, but the Sensar Pro does not give a 20dB gain. The setting of 10 on the scale is considered 0 (no additional amplification and not attenuating the signal). Dropping below 10 will reduce the Sensar's built in amplifier and raising above 10 will increase the amplification. It appears that each step above 10 is a 1dB gain so moving the gain to 20 would be a 10dB gain.
