Android wifi range

There are some wifi extenders/boosters that will find the nearest wifi signal on their own without a computer, grab the signal, lock it in and boost it. You then connect the wifi from the booster and not the source it originates from - so you would have your Android to scan for wifi, look for Amped and select that on the phone to connect to. The distance it will work depends on the extender. Not sure if the Amped Wireless adapter model ua600ex has this capability. No mater what you don't need a wifi router - which generally need a wired network connection to work from.
