Another solution is "Freeze Alarm" It will connect to an XLink bluetooth gateway box, which you connect to an unused bluetooth capable cell. The cell phone will then call you whenever the temps go above or below whatever whatever temps you configure, or if the power goes off.
We've used this for years to monitor our home in the winter when we travel, in case the heat or power goes off. Since we don't have a landline anymore, the XLink makes the Freeze Alarm work with the old cell phone.
You can call the cell phone at anytime to check the temps.
