Roku/FireTV/Sling/Philo
We "camp" up north and have dish at our seasonal campground.
It's been going up and now we're spending more than $100 per month ($127) Lots of $$$ for something we watch for two days a week.
I thought, we have a DSL line with 25 MB speeds, maybe I'll research Sling/Philo etc.
Anyone had any issues streaming off a relatively slow DSL (25 MB) connection? For that matter, anyone streaming off a 3G wifi hotspot?
I've identified the following channels as ones she can't live without.
History
Discovery
Science channel
truTV
AMC
GSN
BBC America
Cooking
FX/FXX
Hallmark channel
HGTV
Travel
FYI
Freeform
Syfy
Food network
Local area news channels would be nice(kstp, kmsp, wcco) might be on Pluto TV
Majority of those are available on Sling Blue - but not Discovery or Science channel (love How It's Made)
Hulu offers only three shows from Science Channel so it's not perfect.
Philo offers Science channel, not sure if it's worth the $16 per month.
So if I went Sling, $25 Blue, $5 for DVR, $5 for Lifestyle channels (might spring for the $10 that gets 4 extras)
We already have Hulu and Netflix plus Amazon prime video. Have to cut costs somewhere, way too much money on TV!
Feedback/ideas welcome!
