We "camp" up north and have dish at our seasonal campground.It's been going up and now we're spending more than $100 per month ($127) Lots of $$$ for something we watch for two days a week.I thought, we have a DSL line with 25 MB speeds, maybe I'll research Sling/Philo etc.Anyone had any issues streaming off a relatively slow DSL (25 MB) connection? However, we used to have sling and worked pretty well. We also have netfix and it also works well. We now have you tube tv and works very well for the 6mgs we have. I too, dumped satelite 3 years ago due to the increase cost every year, no regets at all. We run everything through a roku. Good luck!

The first thing you need to do is confirm that you are actually getting 25Mbps on your DSL line. Run Speedtest at various times of day to confirm this. Often times the DSL speed advertised is not delivered and it is only delivered to the router at that speed, not to WiFi connected devices.If you are, that should be plenty of bandwidth for a single stream.

Happy Roku user here. It streams everything (sling, redbull, pluto, crackle, tubi, prime), even the 4k, shows well. Fast forwards and menu searches are a little slow to recover, but never has to buffer.

Happy Roku user here. It streams everything (sling, redbull, pluto, crackle, tubi, prime), even the 4k, shows well. Fast forwards and menu searches are a little slow to recover, but never has to buffer.

Oh, believe me, I had to fight for that bandwidth, lol. Several times they stated I was getting 25, and I'd submit speedtests that proved I was still only getting 10. My wife also can work from there and she's done it several times - matter of fact, once we both worked remotely on the 25 Mb/s DSL connection.

Thanks for the reminder, though.

Surprisingly, that may be the best option, for $55 that ticks 99% of the boxes for the channels we really want! And a DVR... although it's in beta.

I don't have any problems streaming Netflix and amazon prime and music at the same time using the cheapest CenturyLink data rate.

DTVN is not as smooth and seamless as real cable, but it is a big cost savings, especially at home where you might need multiple adapter boxes (at$8-$12 each per month).

The cloud based DVR does work although the menu system on an Amazon FireTV stick is not the greatest. Better on a PC.

I think I saw an ad for $10 off each month for the first 6 months.

Set up another dish or tailgater at your remote location, and move your receiver back and forth.
