You will like the new (refurbished) GPS I'm sure.. learn how to use its features and you'll have many happy times.. I've been running Garmin since the early 80s and they have continually made the product better..
We have smart phones too but it's hard for my wife to see hers to help me out when actually in motion driving down the road.. And it's not big enough for my eyes either..
Our Nuvi with POIs for RV and camping parks plus POIs for low clearance work just fine and I can comfortably look at the screen when needing to verify upcoming turns, etc...
