Hook your receiver up to the Sat outlet and turn ot on. Go outside with your volt meter. Put it on DC volts. I think I remember putting a paper clip in the hole of the Sat connector to make contact. One lead on the clip and one on the outside of the Sat connector and it measured the voltage.
