Sat Dish Heater

Sat tv don't work,....No Signal ! But it seldom snows here ???
Looked out, everything is white. I just hate when that happens.
Ebayed sat dish heaters,...$60-$80 ??
Don't it seem like a $3 flood lamp pointed at the back of the dish would fix it ?? Anyone have a cheap fix ?
