Get a meter, preferably a self powered meter and a compass. With a self powered meter you can do all the moving around you need to do with the dish, before running the coax to the RV. A good meter is a one time purchase. All the meter does is help me find the 101 satellite. I don't worry about the 99 and 103 satellites. They take care of themselves.
A phone app can help locate a good position for the dish if trees are a factor.
My wife is not always around, and when she is she is usually doing something else related to setting up.
Something else to consider is, whether or not you are going with a SWM (single wire multiswitch) setup. If that's the case the meter should be the type that works with SWM.
I personally have a SWM setup but my old meter was purchased pre-SWM, so I also carry a legacy SL3 horn out to my setup position. My meter will not power the SWM horn. I drop the legacy horn in place for the setup and then, after locating the best signal, drop in the SWM horn. If you don't bother with the small bolts, this is easy.
