Hi....a newbie here. I want to purchase a portable satellite antenna and receiver for my new to me Winnie Sightseer. Looking at the Tailgater system as well as a Winegard. Have seen mixed reviews...

The Tailgater sends the power for the aiming servos out through the coax cable. So far it's working remarkably well for me. While the specs say there's a limit of 50 feet on the coax, I've often run it on 150 feet, including a junction insert. On that much cable, occasionally the aiming mechanism won't wake up, but a second ping will do the trick. Once you're aimed, image quality (SD) is exactly the same.
